RoR Awards process

The Jockey Club RoR Awards process starts with nominations, followed by a judging panel shortlisting three finalists in each category. The public can then vote, with the winners announced at the RoR Awards ceremony on Cheltenham Trials Day, 24 January 2026.

Nomination phase

Nominations for the awards open on 10 October and close on 7 November at 5pm.

Judging phase

A judging panel, including an RoR trustee, representatives from The Sir Peter O’Sullevan Charitable Trust and The Jockey Club, a racing and an equestrian representative, will evaluate nominations, selecting three finalists for each award. The judging will focus on how well each entry meets the criteria of the relevant award.

Finalists and public voting

Once finalists accept their position, the three finalists will be announced for each award. Public voting will open on 25 November 2025 and closes at 5pm on 9 January 2025.

The Awards ceremony

The Jockey Club RoR Awards 2026 will take place at Cheltenham Trials Day on 24 January, where the two award winners will be announced. Finalists for each award, along with a guest, will be invited to the event, which includes a welcome reception, the Awards Ceremony, and presentations for the season's RoR Elite Champions across several equestrian disciplines.
